Vote Maryland
Vote Maryland was designed to encourage Maryland's residents to get out and vote. After coming up with many "calls to action", Maryland vote was picked for its simplicity and ability to say it all. To create the logo, we did many brainstorming sessions as well as mind maps. The first was brainstorming on why to vote and the second was for methods to advertise voting.
With my logo design, I wanted to portray the pride Marylanders have for their state, as well as call them to vote. I also wanted my logo to be simple and memorable.
I came to the decision that what all Marylanders have in common is the flag. I incorporated aspects of flag into my design, while keeping the focus on the call to action. I used the state flag colors to further emphasize state pride. Because this logo could only be two colors, I went with red over yellow because of accessibility.
